We are here to help your child take flight to be successful in college and beyond

The TAKE FLIGHT program at the Graybill Literacy & Learning Studio gives your graduating Senior and rising Junior the skills and tools they need to successfully navigate the SAT, college admissions, and college transition processes.
We empower your children to be capable and confident so they will successfully TAKE FLIGHT!

SAT TEST PREP ● COLLEGE APPLICATION SUPPORT ● LIFE SKILLS COURSES

SAT Prep Classes

Our small-group SAT Prep Classes are led by Andrea Hurley, a Hanover teacher with extensive experience tutoring for standardized tests including the SAT.

  • Includes: 4 sessions and 8 hours of targeted instruction.

  • Cost: $400 and a $200 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot.

We offer comprehensive packages to support your student through the college application and preperation process.

College Applications: premium Package

Includes:

  • Customized College Exploration: We will work with your student to help match them to the ideal college for them. Should they look at big or small schools? Consider suburban or urban envirotnments? Find schools with specific specialty focuses such as the arts, business, engineering, or theatre or a school that can accomodate special education needs? We will review your student’s SAT scores, AP classes, extracurricular activities, and more to help your student determine which schools will be an ideal match. 

  • Scholarship Application Support: We will help your student complete three school scholarship applications.

  • School Application Support: We will help your student complte three supplemental school applications. Additional supplemental school applications can be completed with an additional fee.

  • Individualized time with your student: We will spend 8 hours of in-person time with your student supporting them on the college search and application process.

College APplications: Basic Package

Includes:

  • College Essay Writing: We will work with your student to create teh outline and rough draft of their college essay. We will then support them on thier revisions with 2-3 rounds of edits.

  • CommonCore Application Support: The CommonCore Application was released in August and we will help your student complete this application. Students must complete the Graybill Literacy & Learning Studio CommonCore Application Form to support this process. We will also help your student with supplemental essays or information required for up to three colleges. Additional supplemental school applications can be completed with an additional fee.

  • Letter of Recommendation Faciliation: We will help your student complete a “This is Me” form to help faciliate the professionally written Letter of Recommendation ask for them to send to three educators.

  • Resume and Interviewing Techniques Review: We will help your student formulate and review their essay and review best practices for their college interviews to support their acceptance to their ideal school.

College Planning Timeline 

We recommend booking your college planning package in May so we can meet in June for your initial one-hour session. At this time the syllabus will be handed out to students. 

Starting in early August, we will meet on Tuesday and Thursday’s between 10-12pm or 12-2pm to complete the essay, Common Core Application, Letter of Recommendations, Resume, and Interviewing Techniques.
